Brilliant memoir / biography by Arundhati Roy. She can write! Oh my God - wish I could write like that. Her portrait of her mother, Mary Roy, through a biographical recounting of her own life was superb. Took me back to Delhi in the 80’s and 90’s, a lot seemed similar, though much of her book was set in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s.
Ended up watching the brilliant “In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones” after reading the book.
