Read this for the most part during the trip to Sikkim. Read a lot of it in the car, on my Kindle.
2666 was weird. the writing style is simple and captivating, and so much is happening (funnnily, i thought about the various sub-stories and meanderings in the mahabharata). the book about the murders of the women was a gut-punch. the book was like a rogue river, it flowed whereever it wanted, senseless and yet singular. brilliant and headachy.
- The Part About the Critics – strange, and yet captivating. Ends senselessly.
- The Part About Amalfitano – didn’t understand what was going on… madness, dreams, nightmares
- The Part About Fate – loved this part for some reason
- The Part About the Crimes – hated this, but couldn’t stop reading. Gut punch after gut punch. Disgusting.
- The Part About Archimboldi – swirling. Felt like a fever dream, captured what an authors life may be.
