Each house we’ve lived in has had a different character. The apartment we’re in now in Bangalore is bright, well-ventilated, and “just the right size”, with no extra rooms. It looks out on the clubhouse and swimming pool, and has a nice view. The only complaint I have of it so far is that it’s too bright in the afternoon for a nap!
Our house in Hyderabad in L&T was large - large balcony, large bedrooms, large hall. It didn’t have a great view, just onto the road in front. It was a cool and dark house, clammy and cold when it rained, and cool in the summers of Hyderabad.
Our NCC house was nice because of the wooden floors (which we have in this house in Bangalore too), and of course, it was fully furnished. It had a balcony that looked out onto a small park for kids, and another balcony that looked out onto the road. It was not a house that had much cross ventilation.
Before that we lived in PBEL city, on the 10th floor, in a tiny apartment of our own. The apartment was bright and windy, with a nice view and a good cheer. It was the first time we lived so high up!
We were in Chandigarh before that and lived in a house on the ground floor. That house was large, with a small garden, a yard (for parking), a separate servant room and balconies that looked out onto the main road. It was a good house, but a little dark.
Before that we lived in Hyderabad, in SMR Vinay Acropolis, where we had a nice apartment that looked out onto tennis courts, and we had a neighbour across who we were very close to, with a daughter about the same age as ours. The highlight of the house was that our main doors were always open with the kids running across from one hosue to another.
We lived in the US before that in a small house wtih a yard. It was a nice house, but nothing very memorable.
And of course, we were in Hyderabad before that in a fantastic “barsati”, large balcony overlooking KBR park, and a single room / single bedroom apartment with a TT table in the hall!
